Dec 29th,2011

Here it is the 29th,and the sun is shining. The temperature has risin to 64 degrees outside, it is only supposed to drop down to 40 tonight.  But I have been hearing the peepers ( tree frogs) at night so  hot weather is on the way.  I love to go out on the deck at night and just listen to them , its sorta neat.  I saw an armadillo in the back yard early this morning. I swear they look like a rat with armour on.  The ugliest animal I have seen yet!  A few months ago I ran over one. I tried to straddle it so maybe I wouldn't hurt it but , I guess it was taller than I thought, because I felt the thud as it bounced off the bottom of my car.  Well obviously its hard exterior protected it because it ran away.
I made some corn bread  to go with what ever my Honey is making for dinner tonight.  I know he really likes it.  He likes most of the same foods that I like with the exception of cottage cheese and peas, he does not like those 2 foods. Oh yes we both dislike okra.   But hey , thats not very many foods to not care for. He is such a fantastic Chef, I do the baking , and the clean-up, he makes the awesome dinners. All I can say is YUMMMM! Thats all for today. Be happy and blessed.

December 28,2011

Here we are almost the end of the year.It is winter time, I was outdoors putting more chlorine tablets in the dispenser of our swimming pool.It is 68 degrees out.  My people from Northern New York, on the Canadian border say it is snowing pretty hard up there right now. Everyone was complaining that they didn't get snow for Christmas. Now they are complaining because they are getting dumped on now 3 days later.  Remember the old expression.."Be careful what you wish for you just might get it".  I think it is appropriate  right now!
My little dog Justice got into trouble with Howard yesterday.  I had gone with my daughter-in-law runing errands so I wasn't home.  First let me tell you that this dog does not act like a "normal dog", he is strange... So while we were gone my son came back with the riding mower to fix it.It had some sort of a problem! Chris was in the yard and Howard was going to give him the hand book .  When he opened the door to step out Justice bit him on the leg, he was trying to keep him from leaving.  He does this to me all the time!He has this thing about me leaving, he grabs my pants leg or my shoe and tries to pull me back into the house. Well he didn't get just the pants,  he got Howard, but he didn't break the skin, just pinched him. Well it was on! Howard was chasing Justice and probably would have caught him, but for one thing, he has COPD like me and ran out of air.  I think it was good luck for Justice. Howard might have actually hurt him(not really) , had he caught him, He wouldn't mean to but he is a strong man and Justice is  20 pound  dog.  So I just continued the bad dog scenario. Today the dog seems to be on his best behavior. Then again he hasn't seen anyone leave the house... Well thats about it for today be happy and blessed.

The Day After!

Hey! It is the day after Christmas, how many of you returned things or went shopping for the next Christmas.  We are just taking the day to sit back and relax.  No mail delivery, and most places, if they aren't stores or Resturantes, are closed . It has been a little rainey here in the south, smile, no snow .I haven't checked with my friends and family way up North near the Canadian border. Yesterday, my daughter-inlaw  from Alexandria Bay , NY  told us that it was only 10 degrees farenheit  there. BRRRRRRR! It was 68 here.At that I thought it was a little chilly.  Well they like the changing seasons up there, well, we have changing seasons here too.Its called Warm(spring), Hot!(summer) Hot(fall), and Cool to Chilly(winter).  I like those seasons.
Now the new year approaches, it is a renewal time.  A new begining,so to speak.  Everyone has their resolutions planned. I actually have already started mine so it will be to continue. So far I have lost 14 pounds by just eatting small low fat meals, and drinking lots of fluids. So I will continue with this, both myself and Howard have been smoke free, me, since March 2004, thats going to be 8 yrs, and Howard, Dec 2003 so it is 9 years.  So we have that accomplished.  I sure hope a lot or all of you who smoke  quit, He and I both have COPD and let me tell you, it is not easyto go through the breathless agony of feeling like you are suffocating, Plus it is hard to go in crowds, because you might catch pneumonia, and end up in the hospital for 15 days or worse  you may drown in your own fluids and then you are dead . So please do this for your family , but mainly do it for yourself, quit smoking. You will be glad you did.  On a happier note, I hope this blog finds each and everyone of you well and happy.  Check out our other blogs at http://jodiesworld.webstarts.com/          and http://jodie-fyifromjodiesstuff.blogspot.com/

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and also Happy New Years.

So today is Christmas, a time for families to be together and celebrate.  We had my youngest son , his wife and , his 1yr old son. our Grandson, here. It was quite nice and Ty had a lot of fun, but not opening presents, but just playing with the wraping paper then playing  with everything. He loves to clap his hands and throw his arms out sideways and yell Taa,Daa!.  He also loves throwing the tennis ball, lol and everything else he can get his hands on, oops! My fault hehehe, I taught him to throw the ball...hehehe
I have 3 sons in all, the Middle one isn't speeking to me at the moment, But my oldest one called this morning to wish us a Merry Christmas.  I miss him a lot.  I wish he and his wife would consider moving down here. Their lives would be so much easier. Maybe someday. I hope!  Well 2 out of three wouldn't be too bad.  Howard did a beautiful job on the turkey it was moist and tendar just like it is supposed to be. And everything was fantastic.I have a great Chef in that man of mine, and My youngest  son is a fantastic cook also.  I will never starve  thats for sure
I  hope you all had a great  Christmas with family and friends.  Until my next blog, Be happy and blessed.

Wipers and Tires and Tiberius

Wiper Blades!

My son and his wife Tina and their son ,my precious Grandson Tiberius, went to Goodyear to get the oil changed in the car and have the tires rotated. While they were there Tyberius explored the waiting area. He discovered  the display of windshield wipers and decided to play with one of the packages , he didn't hurt anything .  Then he spotted the stacks of tires being displayed.  I am surprised he didn't try to play with them.  He had a good time at Goodyear.

 Wow! Tires!
So then they went home and made dinner, Ty got to help Daddy cook, Oh yes did I mention that my son Chris is a chef . He is an excellent cook, He worked for a 5 star resturant in Alexandria Bay Ny  and then moved south where he has worked as a cook for Papa's place in Robertsdale Al. Then he and my Fiance Howard , created Breezy's lawn service where they do everything from cutting grass to od jobs like clean up and fixing things,You name it and they probably can do it or knows who can.

 Helping Daddy cook!

IT"S SO NICE!

I am a born and bred Northerner, but I will tell you all right here and now, I love it here in the south! As I am looking out my window,  it is sunny with green grass and the birds are cherping.  A friend up north just told me it is snowing and cold.BRRRRR!  No for this old girl, no thank you!  Neither Howard  or I  want the cold winters of the North country.  We are very happy with our Green Christmas in the south. I will go north to visit in the summer for a week or 2 but thats it. I mean , hey, I wish my friends up there lived down here but thats ok ,we have the phones and the computer to keep in touch.   Sometime this spring ,my sister Judy plans to come down to visit us, she has never been to Alabama.  I know she will have a good time. We have beautiful white sandy beaches, Palm trees, and flowering bushes and trees.  It is just as beautiful as Florida , just missing Disney world.:-)We do have Amusement parks ,   Water parks with all the water rides,The Little Zoo That Did,The Warf , which has a big concert theater plus many other  wonderful sites. As I said I really am in love with my life down here.
My little Grandson , Ty was here a couple of hours ago. In one of my blogs I think I mentioned how he helped me stack cans of dog food on the shelf. The first thing he did today was to go start taking the cans down so he could stack them back up.  He is so cute.  Only a yr old and he wants to be Gramma's helper.  I can see right now he is going to be my little side kick whem he gets a little older. I think thats when I will make a little garden for him. We can work on weeding it and then pick the veggies together,  That will be a special time for he and I .  I really think I like being a Grandma after all.!  And I know Howard loves being a Grandfather also, he lights up the minute Ty comes in the door.:-)  Life is great, the only thing that could top it would be to win the Lottery. Thats all for today be happy and blessed.

life in the usa

So here in Alabama 22 miles from the white sandy beaches , it is 68 degrees and sunny, we are going  down there I think. We pass 2 flea markets and some discount stores. That would be great, except for , the bottom 98%  of Americans have no cash !.Thanks to our gas and food prices, that keep going up! Like everywhere else in the world... so I was thinking if there were no governments, most of the people in the world would get along with each other, except for extremists who hate everyone, thats when a president with  guts, enough ,to stand up and just do what is needed reguardless of everyone else thinks.
This is what I do not understand,in the USA,we have about 6 trillion barrels of sweet crude and 4 trillion of natural gas,and thats on land! More than  all the world has! We need to get going and get Opec,Iran, and South America to buy from us...Say what you want about crazy Chaves, but people are paying between 12 and 20 cents per gallon of ghas. WHY? Because he does not let  the tree huggers get in his way! Obama wake up, so much for a happy day, now I am going to stick my head in some ice water, cool down and start my day over...to all the real peo-p[le...be well, blessed, hug someone and be happy.

Cold! South?

Unbelievable!  I have been here in Alabama going on 7 yrs, and it is getting colder in the fall and winter.  We are about 20 miles from the Gulf coast, and I can't believe it is so cold.  In the 30's  at night for the past several nights, and only in the 50's during the day.   Ah! but we still have flowers blooming and palm trees,  Can't lose that.plus green everywhere. Why if we lost that I'd just have to look for a new  paradise. You can also tell it is cold out, the flies are coming in every time you open the door.   I am going to try the  plastic  baggie with the pennies and water in it. I have heard that it works, you put water and 2 pennies in a baggie, and put it just above your door ,outside your house. I understand it messes with their sight ,and they will not go near the door.  I hope it works, I will let y'all know how this works.
Here it is Dec 2nd 2011,  my Grandson Ti  will be 1 yr old on the 12th. I can't believe it has been a year already.  I never thought I would like being a Grandma,I always said no way , thinking of it as being old . It isn't and I am enjoying it more all the time.  Tiberius is the apple of both my and Howard's eye. this kid could be a baby model. today our big son (30) came over the house and primed the bedroom in white using  be- hr paint. after it is all primed a nice blue.we have some left over Disneyana.the idea is to put 4 eight foot pine shelves up.then some of the collectables on the 10 inch deep shelves-take digital photos and Ebay here we come :)  !  we also have a load of 1986-87 baseball cards as well.since we are both disabled on social security any money would help.If you are interested in this, and want pictures and prices just ask.    Well thats it for today,be happy and blessed.

Blessing in Desguise!

Well I was supposed to get the lapband operation tomorrow morning ,went through everything to meet the qualifications, and did meet them, well all except one.   When I came home from pre-op this morning, we received a phone call from the Infirmary.  They were telling me to be sure to remember this and that but mostly to remember to bring a $1200 check.  I thought that it was the same as with the doctors, they bill me after  Medicare pays them their 80 %.  I am disabled and do not have that much to put out at one time,I make payents to the Physicians and they are ok with it. I mean they get 80% right away, so it works.  Ah! but here is the blessing part, for the past week, I have felt this awfull sense of mobidity, if that is even a word?  I have had babies, with c-sections with one cardiac arrest, hysterectomy, gallbladder surgery, and pneuonia about 6 times, Never did I feel this sense of dread ,and feeling like I was going to die, until now. Even our dogs were acting strange, they were stuck to me like glue, it was as though they were trying to keep me safe, everywhere I sat or went they were right there.  They are loving dogs very affectionate but they don't do this unless something is wrong.  It is said that everything happens for a reason, and I  believe it now,  So now Howard and I have come to the realization, that we can do what the Lapband was going to do but without the banding of my stomach, I have the info about the diet so we are going to do it our way, and since there will be no healing to wait for  and I have already started the diet process it will be alright.  And I am alive and will be very well in the long run.   Be happy and blessed :-)

be blessed and happy

thank you for reading our blog(all425 of you around the world

SO FOLKS,HERE IT IS FRIDAY AND WE HAVE OPENED A NEW BLOG. YOU CAN READ THIS ONE AND THEN TRY OUT OUR OTHER ONE AT  http://jodiesworld.WebStarts.com/index.html      as you did with this blog, Be sure that when you go to the new blog site , you bookmark or put it on your favorites, so you do not have to type in the long address every time (smile).  We are also thinking about getting our own domain , which will be much more  convenient, for you and us. We will let everyone know when or if we are going to do this.
This was Black Friday!  Did you all get some good deals? I heard that there was some good sales at the stores and that some of the stores were not as busy as they expected, In fact my daughter in law  was sent home early from the store she works at because it wasn't busy.  That was good though because she worked 10 hours at the other store, she works 2 jobs and was going to be putting in a 20s straight between the 2 of them. So I am glad she was sent home, 20 hours , that's way to long. Anyhow I hope you all had a great day,got some of your Christmas shopping  started.  Howard got a really nice Mustang remote control car for our Grandson  He is only going to be 1yr old on Dec 12th, it is not with a controller, it is one that has the control buttons on the top of the roof,so someone must start it and it will go around or straight by it's  self, I;m not sure if it reacts and turns around when it bumps into something. I hope it does.  Tiberius is going to have a ball, He acts like a 2 year old now. He is  the apple of both my and his grandpa eyes. First Grand child. In fact he is the first in both the Maternal, and Paternal Grandparents,so he is getting a little spoiled, but not in a bad way. But he knows that this Grandma means no when she says it. (smile) If he wants to cry , go ahead, as long as he is not hurt, he can cry.  But he has a huge smile on his face every time he comes in the door, so I must be doing something right.  Well I am going to close this and will hope you will read both blogs because they will not be a repeat. So be happy and be blessed.
